Just as we did in Pienza and everywhere else on this list, to be honestwe enjoyed simply walking along the streets and taking in the architecture, street scenes, local businesses and pieces of everyday life. It may have been Dan behind the wheel, and our car was a modern Fiat instead of a vintage Peugeot. The calcium formation is the most impressive formation at the hot springs of San Filippo, and you should NOT can walk on it as the formations are delicate!
We stayed at Agriturismo Pacifico and loved it. We had a pretty amazing vantage point for sunset. The hot springs leave calcium deposits that continuously transform the landscape into a wonderland of pools and natural formations. Learn more here.

You may see it in the distance from your sunset viewpoint, but I would recommend driving right up to it as well.
